Our goal is to promote and support technological and industrial education at all levels by increasing the effectiveness of instruction.

The ATIEA is the professional association for Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers in the following program areas: communication technologies, transportation technologies, industrial technologies, manufacturing technologies, engineering, information technology, and human services (fire fighting and police science) and at the pre-secondary, secondary and post-secondary levels. We are proudly affiliated with the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE and ACTE-AZ) and the International Technology and Engineering Education Association (ITEEA).

The mission of the ATIEA is to foster a spirit of mutual cooperation, understanding, and unity among the members of the fields of Technology, Trade and Industry, and Technical Education; including teachers, administrators, and other educational personnel, business partners, and the general public.

This is accomplished by:

  • Providing scholarship for extending students’ education and training

  • Developing and delivering professional development activities for teachers that extend their skills and knowledge

  • Working with other organizations, such as the ACTEAZ and SkillsUSA, to create opportunities for teachers and students

  • Developing relationships with industry partners to increase support for teachers and students

  • Developing teachers as leaders in Career and Technical Education (CTE)
