We're thrilled to announce that Mr. Black has been awarded $50,000 ($35,000 for his Program, $15,000 for Himself) by Harbor Freight Tools for Schools as one of only 25 winners nationwide—selected from over 1,000 applicants!

This prestigious award honors outstanding skilled trades teachers who make a difference in the classroom and in their communities—and Mr. Black is a shining example of that excellence. His dedication to hands-on learning and preparing students for real-world careers continues to set the bar high.

In April at the SkillsUSA SLSC, Brady Mitchell was recognized as SkillsUSA Arizona Advisor of the Year!  We want to recognize Brady here as a former ATIEA President and Member.  Brady bring an impressive array of Skills, Experience and Credentials to his course at West-MEC NWC.  He is very intentional in integrating SkillsUSA into his Classroom, Lab, and Chapter!   Way to go Brady!

In March, Mr. Lamer was awarded Bagdad High School's CTE Teacher of the Year!  His years of experience, dedication, and commitment to our students and the Career and Technical Education program have truly set him apart.  Congratulations Mr. Lamer!  Thank you for everything you do to help our students grow and succeed!

In November 25, Afton Foster  was recognized as having an OUTSTANDING CTE PROGRAM.

In October 25, Afton Foster  was recognized as having an OUTSTANDING CTE PROGRAM (Post Secondary). 

In September 25, Afton Foster  was recognized as having an OUTSTANDING CTE PROGRAM.

In August 25, Afton Foster  was recognized as having an OUTSTANDING CTE PROGRAM. 

In May 25, Brad Whitaker was recognized as having an OUTSTANDING CTE PROGRAM.  TBrad has built an amazing IT Security Prgoram to help  prepare students for one of the morst in-need industries out there.  He is constantly innovating, and adapting his class to meet or exceed current industry standards.  

In April 25, Thomas Moore was recognized as having an OUTSTANDING CTE PROGRAM. 

In March 25, Paul Getz was recognized as having an OUTSTANDING CTE PROGRAM. He has been working incredibly hard this year launching a new Cloud IT Program.    This is on top of the IT Security classes that he normally teaches.  He is constantly innovating, and adapting his class to meet or exceed current industry standards. 

Michael Keck was awarded as having an OUTSTANDING CTE PROGRAM in February of 2025.  Mr. Keck teaches Welding and Construction Technology for Cienega High School.  His construction class builds tiny homes for new teachers in the Vail School District.
